This is how it all started…
with a crash, my life changed forever. After a life-altering motorcycle accident, I felt disconnected and aimless. Unsure of what to do next, I spent the $5K insurance payout on a trip to Hawaii to study lucid dreaming. While my initial goal was to explore the dream state, I soon realized there was much more to life beyond my small hometown of Basildon, England. I wanted to explore the waking world—our vast planet and its diverse people.
I seized the opportunity to work and live abroad in Brunei and Malaysia. It was there that I truly fell in love with the idea of following in the adventurous footsteps of my late great-uncle Malcolm. Although I lacked the funds to pursue my travel dreams, I found inspiration in his journey. Just as he had joined the merchant navy to begin his adventures, I joined a relocation company in project management, which gave me the kickstart I needed.
Living and traveling to as many countries as I could manage, I always wished I could stay longer each time to learn more about the culture and explore its arts. To understand the world a little better, I found myself aimlessly scouring the internet for snippets of information. However, I soon became overwhelmed by the great deluge of content, retaining very little and feeling disorganized. So, I decided to create a blog—not only to compartmentalize my interests but also to share my findings with others who are looking for the same things.
I hope you enjoy the fruits of my labor and connect and share your findings too, and in the great words of Mark Twain let’s “Explore, Dream, and Discover” together.
